Volunteer Investment Programme
West Midlands Recognition Award

RUGFC Excel in Volunteer Work

Following last years 'Highly Commended' award bestowed on Redditch United Girls, this year the Club has gone one further and have won the award in the West Midland region.

As West Midland Club of the Year winner in the 2000 Volunteer Investment Programme Club Recognition Award, RUGFC receives a cheque for £1000.00 and a certificate to support the work done in recruiting, training and recognising volunteers.

Sport England will be arranging an event in the New Year where the cheque and the certificate will be presented. Meanwhile the Club will assessed with other regional winners for a National Winner and have been invited to attend the National V.I.P. Awards ceremony to be held in London on December 12th.

Needless to say RUGFC are highly delighted to have won this prestigious award and thanks go to all those volunteers who, over the last 5 years have helped and worked to build the Club to where we are today.

Our thanks also go to Sport England who viewed our efforts worthy of such an acclaim.

RUGFC attends Sport England Awards Presentation

Trevor Brooking Honours Redditch United Girls F.C.

Julie Leroux and Pauline Read attended the Sport England, Volunteer Investment Programme Recognition Awards ceremony in London and were presented with a plaque from Trevor Brooking.

RUGFC are extremely pleased to have been the West Midlands Regional Winner after last years Highly Commended award. The Club also receives a cheque for £1000 to be spent on the continued management and development of volunteers.

The day consisted of pre lunch drinks, a superb cooked lunch (it being near Christmas, turkey of course) followed by the presentation ceremony and a key note speech from Trevor Brooking. There was also the opportunity to share experiences and knowledge with the other Regional Winners.

In return Julie presented Trevor with one of our Clubs brilliant pin badges, a fair exchange I'm sure you'll agree. Below are the Club photos of the meeting.
