RUGFC win further FA Accolades Awards Presented 18/06/2005
RUGFC continue to win awards for the highest level with the game of Association Football both for the recognition of individual efforts and Club successes. At the recent Worcestershire Annual General Meeting Redditch claimed two major awards.
The first, the Workforce Award Young Volunteer, went to Jess Dyer, who after 4 years as a player and is now part of the coaching staff at RUGFC, for her commitment as a volunteer in football. The second, the FA charter Standard Development Club of the Year Award.
It was also announced at the meeting that RUGFC had also won the prestigious West Midland Regional FA Charter Standard Development Club Award which covers Birmingham, Staffordshire, Shropshire and Herefordshire County FA's over all other Development Clubs in these regions.
RUGFC is rightly proud of this achievement as it recognises that success in developing the female game is not just about results on the pitch but the whole inclusive approach that it has taken. Certainly the younger teams coming through are now fulfilling the promise that such initiatives such as the Summer Soccer Schools and development programmes for players, coaches and managers had promised
