Awarded by Birmingham County Football Association 17/01/2005
Credit was (literally) given to two clubs who have proved that Fair Play is high on their agenda. From a list of 11 League Fair Play Winners, Withymoor Colts and Redditch United Girls FC were awarded £200 each in recognition of their efforts.
Fair Play has an impact on everyone ensuring we retain greater numbers of Match Officials and players within the game, said County Secretary, Dave Shelton who announced the two lucky winners.
But it goes much further than that. Young football players are citizens of the future, so it is important they learn how to compete in a positive environment.
I hope that everyone who attended our presentation went home feeling proud of their involvement, added Dave. These Awards give us the chance to pass on our thanks not only to the winners, but to the thousands of groups and individuals within the grassroots game they represent.
County FA’s are not simply fine-takers much of our work now concentrates on developing football for all via a whole host of initiatives. During the coming year we hope that even more people will get involved with and benefit from our work.
