Sunday People News
Dear players, staff and parents
The People’s new youth football supplement needs you!!! If you haven’t already
heard, The People is launching a free 16-page supplement on youth football in
the Greater Birmingham area on January 11. Called Junior SPLive! it will cover
your season on and off the pitch, with match reports, competitions and news from
around the clubs.
We want to get more young people out there playing and recognise the efforts you
all put in week in, week out.
If you need new players or sponsors, you can appeal for them in our pullout. We
will be looking for a team of the week from each league and one winning team
from across the leagues will get a fantastic prize of a new strip.
You don’t have to be top of you league to enter. I want to hear about anything
that makes you
special - you might have gone out there in all weathers, giving it your all, and
just notched up your first win of the season. That’s worth shouting about. Or
you might have raised money for charity or helped one of your team mates in her
time of need.
We
will feature a website of the week, recognise the volunteers who give up so much
of their time so that young people can get out there and play and We are working
closely with the FA and will be linking up with their campaigns as well as
covering the big issues that YOU think we should be exploring.
We will also be launching an interactive website where you can chat, uploads
photos and match
reports and anything else you think should be there. If your club wants to get
involved, drop us an email and tell us about yourselves. For the first few
editions, we want to report on anything you have been doing over the last few
months. I look forward to hearing from you.
All
the best,
Justine Smith
