Birmingham County FA are
urging Charter Standard Clubs to keep Sunday 7th June 2009 free to
ensure they can enjoy a fun filled day of football at Sandwell Park
Valley
Officials have announced that this is the day that the
annual Charter Standard Football Festival will take place in Sandwell,
offering hundreds of footballers the chance to join in the annual event.
Last year around 500 youngsters join World Cup Hero, Sir Geoff Hurst at
Rugby United’s Kilsby Lane Ground where fun games and skills sessions
were provided by FA qualified coaches and officials.
“We’re set for another great day this time around,” said BCFA
Development Officer, Heidi Lockyer. “We’ll be in the Sandwell area but
Sunday 7th June is a day for all Charter Standard Clubs in the Black
Country, Birmingham and Warwickshire area!”
The FA Charter Standard initiative is FREE
to all clubs and offers the chance to prove that set requirements in a
variety of areas are met, including first aid, child protection and
coach qualifications.
It offers players, parents, volunteers and sponsors the peace of mind
that they are involved with a safe, responsible club.
In return for their commitment, clubs are also offered access to In
Service Training opportunities and tickets for England Youth and Women’s
International matches.
