Redditch United U13 Jets kicked off the
season with a hard game ahead of them. After the summer training and the
team manager now supported with a new coach in toe, the Jets came alive
with a remarkable amount of passion and stunning determination from the
kick off.
Droitwich were under pressure from
the whistle and for the first half were truly out played by the Jets.
Performances from each of the Jets players secured a 2 - 1 lead at half
time and left the Terriers with a significant amount to do if they were
going to reclaim their unbeaten run against the Jets.
Second half saw a number of Terrier changes
and being revitalised from the half time break quickly got back in to
the game drawing level 2 - 2. Midway through the second half the
Terriers struck again to take the lead but the Jets were still battling
for every ball.
With the final whistle approaching a superb
pass from the jets midfield saw a one on one battle between the
attacking Jets centre forward and the Terriers goal keeper. 3 - 3 ! Calm
under pressure and a superbly take goal. The goal put the game to a
deserved draw for the Jets who defiantly controlled most of the game
just missing out on that sought after first win.
A well played game with some moments of
shear brilliance through control, vision and passing from both sides.
Well done to the girls and supporters for their help and for following
the FA RESPECT campaign. Thank you
