The Jets started this game fired up for the
match but within minutes they went 0-1 down to a well played positional
play from Meadow Park which left the defence wonder what had happed.
After a while the game settle down but for much of the first half Meadow
Park controlled the game with most of the attacking football.
Midway through the first half the Jets
goalkeeper took a nasty twist to the ankle forcing the game to stop play
for quite a while until eventually the goalkeeper was carried off and
the Jets reverted to a stand in for the rest of the half. After the held
game the added extra time for the first half amounted to 7 minutes.
Going in at half time the Jets were 0-4
down and lost some of that vision seen from the first match. Before
long, the second half seemed as if it would be going the same way as the
first but with some moving around of players and the stand in goalkeeper
making some exceptional saves, the Jets started to focus and ran their
socks off for most of the second half.
It took a long while for the Meadow Park
girls to break down the changes to make it 0-5 but that was all they
would get for the whole of the second half.
A stunning second half performance from all
the players with some swift defence moves leaving Meadow Park repeatedly
off side seemly not really understanding the off side rule. Some work to
do at training next week but a very strong second half played by all.
Every player put in 110%
today which was clear from the red faces on a warm day they truly
played their hearts out.
On to Pershore next week were the Jets,
with focus have a real chance of snatching a win providing they have the
same passion seen n the second half today.
Excellent play, well done to all the girls
today, see you all at training (Astro next week) |
