Following last weeks defeat and after a
delayed start United kicked off with renewed determination. Within the
first couple of minutes United could have seen themselves 1-0 with a
good attempt from K.Racki, forcing a fine save from the keeper. Playing
with the slope United maintained pressure in the Penkridge half. The
first goal came from a superb corner struck by C.Partridge, forcing a
defensive error which lead to an own goal (1-0). Redditch kept up their
attacking momentum and scored again, this time a B.Newburn cross gave
K.Racki the opportunity to score which she took (2-0).
H.T..2-0
Start of the 2nd Half:
Within 10 minutes of the start, following
some good play between K.Badger, K.Racki and A.Cann the 3rd goal was
scored by A.Cann (3-0). Penkridge didnt give up and put pressure on the
United goal. A break away movement meant Penkridge could have reduced
the deficit but H.Racki (keeper) came out and forced the attacker to
shoot wide. Four minutes later United saw themselves again in front of
goal this time with E.Husband, unluckily her shot was blocked but was
picked up by K.Badger to make it 4-0. Penkridge continued to pressure
and caused a handball in the United box. The resulting penalty gave them
the perfect opportunity to score, luckily for United the shot caught the
post and rebounded off. United were then in trouble from a solo effort
which passed 4 players and found the back of the net (4-1). United
didn't let this put them off and 3 minutes later K.Badger scored
United's 5th (5-1).
