After a
crushing cup defeat the Jets needed to regain their form against a
formidable opponent this week and they did not fail sporting their all
new away strip. Despite the score line the first half was 55% West
Hagleys. The Jets showed they definitely had it in them to match the
better teams in the league. Raising the game against Hagley the Jets
battled hard for the first half with conviction and had several good
chances on goal but just missed that vital kick start they needed.
West
Hagley 2-0 going in at half time seemed a reasonable score line but the
Jets did show promise in looking for that vital first goal.
Second
half the Jets made two substitutions and lost a little composure and
needed a good portion of the second half to regain their form. By this
point West Hagley had taken command gaining two sloppy goals from goal
mouth scrabbles which trickled over the line.
Second
half Hagley had 70% of the play in the Jets half but battling hard and
only conceding one further goal the final score 5-0 was a little unfair
after the effort and passion the Jets showed this week.
Goals
count at the final whistle so the Jets had to concede they were defeated
by the deserving team on the day
Over all
some outstanding play from Jade Carter holding off some fierce attacking
play from the two star strikers, Victoria Miller showing great passion
fighting hard on the wing and gaining some excellent advantage almost
leading to the Jets second half goal. Chloe few picked up the pace this
week chasing hard for every ball showing spirit and placing Hagleys
defence under pressure on numerous occasions gaining her player of the
match this week.
Chloe
Whittingham in goal played a blinder again. Forgetting the score, Chloe
has show excellent improvement in her new goal keeping role and forced
Hagley to shoot wide on countless occasions with her vision and skills.
Oppositions frustration on these occasions kicking the ground at almost
open goals being out witted by the Jets Goal keeper.
Well done
to the Jets, |
