The return match oh so seat is victory. The
Jets second ever win today so a transformed team take on Kinver Colts
who beat the Jets 3-0 the last time they met. This match was
defiantly going to be a hard game but kicking off totally alert this tie
round after our last match saw a very evenly match game.
Disaster would strike when the supports
least expect with a powerful corner flying in to the Jets area and
Charlotte Carter striking it unfortunately in to her own net. Was this
the way the match was going to play out? No, the Jets picked their heads
up and battled hard gaining the equaliser midway through the first half.
Scott took the team talk at half time and
you could sense the girls had worked hard and the team was ready to
fight hard to win the second half and secure the second ever win. True
to the first half both teams played extremely well with end to end
breaks by the forwards place both defences under pressure.
Goal mouth scrabble again in the Jets area
after a great strike rattle the Jets cross bar, dropping to the floor
and securely recovered by the goal keepers kept the Jets in the game.
A mistake by the Kinver defender pass a
ball back to the goal keepers who instantly picked the ball up. Our luck
was in with a free kick. The jets moved a lightning pace (Even I was
shocked at that), secured the ball, the referee blew to take the kick
and Kinver was left ball watching and still strolling back to the goal.
Gemma pushed the ball forward to Tammi who blasted the bac of the net.
Gooooal !
As you could imaged the Jets supports are
wild at this point while Kinver could only stand and look in disbelief.
Both teams continued to work hard and the
Jets could not sit back. 1 - 2 is not a score line that secures a win
especially as the Jets already lost one game this season in the dying
second. With a great bit of vision a through ball landed at Tammi's
feet, tipped the ball past the goal keepers to leave an open goal. 1 - 3
An great result for the Jets and a deserved
win. their last match was hard fought and they lost 0 - 3 so this win is
a massive achievement for the girls.
Well done and top marks to both teams for a
great spirited game.
