After 5 weeks off and for a change a warm sunny start to the day and we
actually have a full squad and a sub Welland start the game the first 10
or so minutes are played around the Welland area but the ball just not
going in with the Welland defence holding firm and against the play
Welland break with a hit and run move our defence caught flat footed and
their striker puts the ball in 1 nil to them the goal gives Welland a
bit more confidence unfortunately Eleanor had to come off with an injury
to her ankle and as Welland push forward we get a quick break and Becky
in the right place at the right time slots the ball past their keeper 1
all.
Welland start again and while we are still celebrating our goal another
hit and run move down the wing some nice passing into our area and the
balls in the back of the net 2 - 1 Welland and thats how the half
finished. After a stern talking to and a bit of encouragement we start
the second half as strong as the first this time Hollie, Becky and
Molly's passing a lot sharper and a goal from Savage it wasn't long
before again after some nice football Becky is in the right place at the
right time to take us into the lead 3 - 2
After this we go back to sleep and Welland again with a hit and run move
sweep past our defence and slot the ball in the net 3 all with about 10
mins to go and it was all end to end with both teams coming close a
collision in the Welland area and Hollie goes down ref points to the
spot and Chloe steps up and puts the penalty away 4 - 3 with Hollie's
coming of we actually started to play better with 8 on the field 4 -3 is
how the game ended.
Very entertaining game for a neutral and Welland did their club proud
they played some very good football and gave us a great game a big well
done to all the girls |
