Redditch started the game a little nervously but soon settled in to the
game playing some nice neat football and creating opportunities which
unfortunately just couldn't be converted.
On a pitch that sapped energy due to the length of the grass players
were rotated but the performance didn't slip, however it was an
individual mistake that created the opening for the Silverdale forward
to have a free run on goal and shoot past Grigg who did manage a slight
touch but not enough to divert wide.
This could have seen the Reds lose their balance and concede more but
this wasn't to be and in fact more chances came their way. The second
half saw Redditch commend the game for good periods and on balance
should have at least equalised. Silverdale were restricted to just a
couple of threats on goal.
With 10 minutes left Redditch restructured slightly pushing more players
forward in an attempt to score but Silverdale continued to defend well
and took all the points. Both games played between these two teams this
season has seen Silverdale take the spoils by the odd goal but for the
neutral football has certainly been the winner,
Hopefully Redditch can go one better in their home league fixture when
it's scheduled
