Wet, Muddy and cold, could the setting be anymore set for a cup derby day. Jewells started brightly and quickly out of the blocks, with quick flowing passing throughout, but the Jets clawed there way back into the game through persistence and hard work in all areas over the field with Jade Carter and Shanon Farmer clearing the balls from back well and hard and Katie Gibbons (playing out of position in defence), the defence did a great job in keeping the Jewels at bay for most of the first half, however by half-time the Jets went in 2-0 down, from a header and a low hard shot, but still the jets went in full of that fighting spirit that has put them in good stead for most of the season. Second half was just as exciting as the first, with the game being played mostly down the wings (Must remember that) and the Jets holding firm for most of the half and breaking through on several occasions, but the Jewels defended well and managed to break through in the second half with only the one goal, final score 3-0, on this occasion Jewels took the bragging rights away (for a week anyway) in the derby, well done to all who played in the game and supported, Jets are growing in confidence at every match and are already looking forward to the next game (Wonder who that is against?)
