Disappointingly being only able to field 10 players Redditch started a
little disjointed but soon got into the formation the players had chosen
themselves.
Much of the play was around midfield with only a few chances coming
either teams way, that was until a great kick from Abigail Lewis in goal
dropped beyond Tiptons defence and Lingham reached the ball first to lob
the keeper.
Redditch then had the best of the play and a strong challenge by Toni
McQuaid saw her win the ball and lay a subtle pass through to Lingham
who's shot on the run flew past the static keeper in to the top corner
of the net.
The heat and the deceptive slope added with the Reds lack of numbers
started to take affect and Tipton took the initiative in the second half
seeing a shot form a wide angle bounce awkwardly right and over the
committed Lewis reducing the deficit. Soon after Redditch were reduced
to 9 players after Mmel Mason took a painful kick on the side of the
foot. Tipton took advantage and applied continued pressure until a poor
decision by the assistant referee missed an offside from a ball slipped
through and the Tipton forward powered the ball over the Reds keeper.
A
tense period then followed for both teams until the final whistle.
Redditch well deserved the point in this game and takes them to the last
game of the season hopefully with at least a full team available against
Silverdale
