The Reds playing their final league game of the season had a disastrous
start conceding in the first minute of the game, Kirsty Griggs clearance
from a back pass struck on the oncoming forward and then with Grigg
unable to recover the ball the Silverdale player passed the ball in to
the net.
Redditch had to work hard to get back in to the game and just as things
appeared to be evening out Silverdale broke through again to extend
their lead. Redditch again worked at getting on terms and were rewarded
when a long through ball bounced over and cleared the Silverdale keeper
with Natalie Leroux shepherding the ball over the goal line.
Redditch failed to put the Silverdale under direct pressure and just
before halftime paid the penalty when the visitors scored their third.
The second half saw Redditch have the best of the early stages and
managed through a slice of good fortune to get a second goal via Jess
Lingham.
The Silverdale keeper then pulled off two great stops, one from a
powerful header and the next a super strike both from Lingham.
However other opportunities were few and far between and from another
Reds attack that broke down Silverdale attacked on the break and scored
a fourth which put the game out of reach for Redditch and inflicted
their third loss this season against Silverdale who now top the division
and are likely champions unless Bilbrook manage an unlikely win by more
than 6 clear goals when the two meet in a couple of weeks
