Very close game where both
sides had opportunities to score but were unable to do so,
both were thwarted by the woodwork and also by good saves.
Abi Lewis in the Reds goal made a fine save in either half
whilst the Studley keeper on balance was probably the busier
but proved equal to the task.
Studley had the more
experienced of squads with many ex RUGFC players in their ranks whilst
the Reds younger players showed that they had the skill and will only
get better with age and exposure to the women's game.
A draw was a fair result
and both teams played well in very hot conditions and a pitch that was
hard and bumpy. The next time Redditch take to the field will be in the
opening game of the season.
