Redditch started quite brightly taking the lead with a well taken goal
from Lingham. However a combination of neat passing and movement from
Bilbrook and some poor defending and goalkeeping allowed the hosts to
take charge and move in to a 4-1 lead, then a good passing move between
debutant Claire Lloyd and Natalie Leroux created an opportunity for
Lingham to score her second and reach half time in touching distance.
The second half was very even and it was Redditch who scored with
another goalkeeping error, this time from the Bilbrook keeper who failed
to hold a soft and speculative shot to give Lingham her hat-trick.
The Reds then had another
couple of half chances to equalise but Bilbrook lifted their game again
and scored twice in the last 10 minutes, to give a scoreline which was a
little harsh on the Reds..
