Today's match was the reverse game against Panthers, which we lost at home at the start of the season, so there was a bit more reason to play well.

A full squad again for this match and again all the girls played well, playing some good football together as a team. Straight from the first whistle we attacked the Pershore defence with some very good moves from the back and midfield leading to loads of chances which we just could not score from. The Pershore goalie pulled off a string of good saves and some desperate tackles from their defenders kept us out until half time. How we managed not to score I still don’t know but luck was against us I think this half.

Half time Pershore 0- MIGHTY REDS 0.

The second half started off the same as the first, with us making chance after chance. Finally, though, our efforts paid off when a good ball through to Becky led to her slotting the ball home to make it Pershore 0- Reds 1, 35mins.

This seemed to wake the Pershore girls up a bit and for a while they started to put us under pressure looking for an equaliser, but our girls held strong with the defence clearing the ball out and the midfield working hard. With five minutes to go our hard work paid off with another superb goal from Becky to make it 2-0 to the Mighty Reds. We finished up still attacking but the score remained Pershore 0- Mighty Reds 2, our tenth game undefeated now.

Again another terrific all round team effort with all the girls working together, and we look forward now to next week’s important cup game against Hallas.

Come on THE MIGHTY REDS!
