Since 1995....

Since RUGFC started training in 1995, we have looked at ways to encourage the players from the U16's, parents and those who wish to help the club to attend the various courses available to us. The Club pays for the majority of the cost of these courses, as part of the Club’s overall development programme..

The continuing flow of new players entering the Club means that the development needs are also ongoing. Each team is required to have Emergency First Aiders as well as recognisable qualifications for the coaches and managers. It is also a requirement of the FA's Charter Standard status to maintain this level of commitment.

Previously listed on this page was all the courses and the number of attendees but as this is an ever increasing number it is more productive just to mention that during the Club's inception to date there has been almost 500 courses attended, consisting mainly of coaches courses, JTM, UEFA B's, Level's 1 & 2 and SAQ's. Administrative, First Aid and the Awareness of Drugs in Sport.

To run a Club the size of Redditch United Girls takes a great deal of effort and commitment on behalf of the volunteers and this demonstrates where some of the Club funds, sponsorship and Awards are spent.

Development Plan

RUGFC completed it's second 5 year development plan and is currently half way through the current one. As well as achieving FA Charter Standard, Sport England VIP Regional Award and WASP 'club of the of the Year, over the last few years RUGFC has also expanded to include an exit to the Club's Open Age women's team as well as exits to other local teams.

RUGFC's Partners

We work closely with the Redditch Sports Development Unit, Action Sport, The Worcestershire FA and Birmingham County Football Development Scheme to hold many of these courses . School liaison officers help bring the Club to local schools and invites those interested along to training sessions. Many move on to join the Club and play competitive football.

Girls only Mini-Soccer Summer School

The Summer school started in the Summer of 2002 and has been seen as a great success. the format has changed over the years and will continue to do so. Now that girls have access to football through their school life the actual sessions are now more focused to encouraging those girls who need more individual attention and self confidence.

Open/Fun days

RUGFC hold its Open Days for many reasons, to give girls in the local community a day long taster and then the opportunity to carry on by joining the Club's weekly training session. Which may lead to the option to register to play for the Club in the league.

Small sided Games

During the summer all our teams enter various small sided competitions, the biggest being the Worcestershire Female Football Festival. During the Summer term the Club has also held small-sided tournaments for the High & Middle Schools,
