EGM Elects New Chair

After a period of uncertainty surrounding the position of Chair at RUGFC over the last few months an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) was called to vote in nominated candidate Trevor Boardman. Trevor is father of one of the younger players in the Club and had expressed interest in undertaking this challenging role.

Given the minimum number of members was well exceeded a proposal was made and seconded for Trevor to be elected and in an unanimous vote the motion was carried.

The Club's thanks go to Sally Perry who again stood in as acting Chair after Karen Waters resigned the position after a short while due to the impact on her business commitments.

It is hoped that now Trevor is in place the Club can refocus on it's continued growth and success. It is planned that over the coming weeks and months details on such things as teams for next season, Chartered Standard, Summer Soccer Schools and further links with local schools and RUGFC desire to continue to be a total inclusion Club will be released by Trevor and the Committee.

Initial activity has seen Trevor make contact again with the Council to discuss the state of the pitches and changing facilities in Redditch for female football. This is a vital area as the threat of redevelopment still hangs over the Abbey Stadium and with the plans going to the Deputy Prime Ministers office for approval no dates are yet known, if indeed this is allowed to happen.
