Sir Bobby, The stars meet RUGFC at
The Valley Stadium
Sir Bobby
Charlton took time from his visit to Redditch United for a Sportman's Evening
function to meet and pass comment on RUGFC's growing influence on female sport
in Redditch.
Having arrived
Sir Bobby immediately headed towards the training ground taking great interest
in the numbers and age range offered by the Club. Speaking to all members from
the Club's Chair to the youngest under 10 Sir Bobby expressed his pleasure at
seeing his beloved game attracting more players of both sexes.
Having travelled to America to watch the last Womens World Cup he believes there
is no reason why England cannot compete at this level and match their male
counterparts success in 1966.
Sir Bobby then
spent sometime signing Club Newsletters for the players who were delighted that
he took such an interest.
Sir Bobby joins the growing
sporting hero's to come to Redditch following the recent visits by England
international Mo Marley and Olympian Christina Boxer.
